Since opening Thai Siam in 2001, John P Vanaphan/Proprietor, credits his success to “Need to be fair with customers, and get to know customers by name!”

What makes Thai Siam unique and popular is paying a little extra for HALAL meat servings, which requires animals to be slaughtered by a Muslim in a specific, humane way, with the blood fully drained from the carcass. In addition, Thai Siam maintains a simple menu and has invested heavily in a filtered water system to enhance the taste of his food selections. On February 2005, Thai Siam received special recognition in the restaurant section of the Houston Chronical, “Eatery delivers exemplary cuisine. Thai restaurant blends disparate tastes deliciously!” For some time, John also owned “Thai Pepper,” a popular restaurant near the Montrose area.

In 1980 when arriving in Houston, John established Texas Hamburger Palace off

Ranchester St. After becoming a US Citizen in 1985, John returned to Bangkok to learn Thai cuisine. Returning to Houston, he moved to Sugar Land and opened Thai Siam Restaurant at its current location in 2001. The exterior sign proudly and colorfully announces the type of cuisine, "Thai Siam Restaurant." The interior décor creates the Thailand culture as customers enjoy not only the most delicious and on request spicy food; but also, the décor with many imported items.

In addition to his beautiful wife, Pranee, for 46 years, John is also blessed with his son’s and daughter’s family and his grandchildren. John and Thai Siam Restaurant have been at Tony Ponce De Leon and Arevalo Insurance Agency since 2005; not only as an established commercial account, but as important members of whom we consider our extended family.

When considering Thai cuisine, we wholeheartedly invite you to come and meet John and his long-standing team members ready to greet you with a smile! Thai Siam Restaurant!
